last pylometric circuit ever, wadddupppppp! Got some stitch-like pains on my sides during warmup, probably the aftereffect of insane abs yesterdsy…
I still sucked quite badly at the continuous floor exercise, my arms and shoulders can’t take the strain of 3 back-to-back exercises where I need to sustain a plank position and jump.
BUT! month 1 can kiss my ass now, bring on recovery week! :D :D :D

another difficult day because of the heat. I can’t wait for it to rain! :(
the front of my calves have started smarting and I’m not too sure why. it stops me from putting too much power into jumping, because I find landing a bitch - I think I’ve gotten better at bouncing on just the balls of my feet as a result, but I get just as tired from jumping that way and landing softly compared to hard landings.
oh well - second last pylometric circuit, DONE!

a third of the way through Insanity - wooo! Everything was great and smooth sailing except for the ski abs and in-out abs - first my arms were tired from the push ups, then my quads and knees seemed to take more impact from these jumps (I suppose the shorter time in the air is the cause of the increase in force, probably gives less time for my knees to bend more to absorb more of the impact). Hopefully this will improve over next week, which will be the last week that I’ll be doing the Cardio Pylometric Circuit before moving on to its more intense equivalent in the second month. :/ :/
Also some measurements:
Weight: 58.8kg, from 59.5kg about 3 weeks back
Waist: 72cm, from 75cm about 3 weeks back
At any rate, just one more week to go before I’m through with the first month! hoyeahhh. :D tomorrow is my rest day, and I’ll be going with my dad and brother to trek to Jangkar Falls near the border of Kalimantan, which promises to be quite exciting even though I’ll have to get up early on a Sunday. The waterfall is the tallest in Sarawak, and is six storeys high! Definitely a great break away from Insanity. :)

I woke up sore this morning from grappling and rolling/jumping around from the Crazy Monkey Defense classes I went to yesterday - trying to kick people while on the floor gives your abs an unexpected workout!
Anyway, today the left side of my ass is sore and I’m trying to stretch it out still, as is left shoulder muscle.
Either way, I had a relatively good workout today! By the end of the first month, I hope to have dug deep enough to keep up all the plank-position exercises without pausing. Maybe my weight is wrong? Will do some research and practise a bit…
smelly melly:
anything in a pull-up position is difficult T_T my arm strength is so pathetic when put under the stress of cardio.
Also my calves were hurting and I had some deep heat on my ankles. NOT a good idea - I couldn’t keep very still during the stretching because the heat bothered me so much.
But I’ve made it a sixth of the way through, give or take! :D Cardio Recovery is tomorrow, and boyyy am I looking forward to that good stuff.

WADDUP! I finished this at close to midnight, because I wasn’t very good at organizing my time today. At any rate, I can feel distinct improvements to my form, which is great! I still pause the video, but not as frequently, and exercises that hurt a lot the first time I did the video felt a lot better the second time round - hopefully it continues down this path!
Something I definitely hope will improve are my push-ups. Level 1 Drills in Insanity consist of 4 quick push-ups which I can manage, but Level 2 Drills are double that, and MANNN do I find those a pain to push through quick and easy.
But WHOO on making it through the week! :D
smelly melly:
…was a helluva lot worse than Day 1 since I ended up doing it in the middle of the day, and was still sore from the previous day. I’ll be getting some protein supplements later today to help with muscle recovery - right now it’s hurting just about everywhere.
I think I’m pretty hopeless with using my core - I tend to think of it as sucking my tummy in and trying to focus on it but when you’re really tired and sweating all over the place it’s so damn difficult! :/ :/ Hopefully it’ll become a more natural thing to do as I progress and as my muscles protest less.
Also I think I’ll stop doing Insanity barefooted just because I’m doing it at home because MAN does jumping repeatedly with naked feet hurt your soles. :(
