Not the best workout I’ve done, to be honest - and such a contrast from yesterday! Switched up the location a little today to a room with a linoleum floor. I’ve been doing Insanity barefoot on a carpeted floor since the beginning, so it was… different. And quite painful; definitely felt a lot of stress in the knees from all the jumping and trying to land softly. I thought I’d be okay, since I train barefoot when I do muay thai anyway, but it’s a different range of movements and I guess I’m used to having a bit more traction and cushion (however little) on the carpet. End result was a more slow-paced workout since I was more conscious of my form being off.
My lower traps are on fire again. They’re the only muscles that really seem to pay after some workouts. Funny thing is that I still can’t figure out what it is that does them in! All those weird push-up variations maybe?
At any rate, I’m glad tomorrow is recovery day. Would be nice to do something emphasising more control, plus I loved the feeling I had in my core the next day when I did it last week. Oooooooh, let it burnnnn…
