Today I decided to do what should’ve been the workout for Day 13 (Pure Cardio and Cardio Abs) instead of Cardio Recovery. Reason? I’m hitting the gym on Saturday for some intense and much-missed weight training with my boyfriend and didn’t want to merk myself too badly, so I’m saving my sacred Cardio Recovery day for then… and the day after will be my rest day! Perfect.
I started off with Pure Cardio on Smelly’s advice. The warm-up was good, but I did feel my calves start to tighten up a lot during the jumping jacks even in the beginning. It was the same throughout the rest of the workout so I took some breaks to loosen up the muscles and give them a bit of a rub before continuing. I do not want a torn muscle right now. Did the best I could with the rest of the workout and then powered straight into Cardio Abs.
Cardio Abs was… I’m not entirely sure how to describe it. I think I had some trouble getting the correct form for some of the moves and getting the breathing patterns right, but this is probably because I went straight into it and was tired. Definitely felt my core working, though! Although my quads were hurting a lot more… Bizarre!
Right, time for a high protein dinner! Mm…
