Cardio Recovery - Much, much less jumping around today! But instead, lots of held positions. I found myself moving in and out of positions quite a lot because of the INTENSE BURNING in my quads, calves and bum. I wasn’t expecting my calves to hurt, but I reckon that’s because I’m bow-legged and the muscles there are just engaged in a slightly different way. Ah well.
My knee is holding up very well, and although I’m hesitant to say I’ve made a full recovery from that untreated torn meniscus I had a while back, the knee is certainly usable. I’m going to attribute this to the strength training I was doing for my hamstrings and my quads.
The only thing about Insanity that bugs me a bit is that there really isn’t that much stretching or flexibility work (and it isn’t the focus, so fair enough). This just means that for an extra 15-20 minutes every day, I do some extra stretching because the level of flexibility I maintain and aspire to have is much more than is focussed on for Insanity.
And I miss weights, too, but that’s just a matter of managing my time well enough so I can do both.
